This past week, the National Labor Relations Board issued a new rule requiring employers to post in the workplace a notice of employee rights under the National Labor Relations Act ("NLRA"). The mandatory notice contains a list of employee rights under the NLRA, such as the right to join unions and act together to improve wages and working conditions.
The NLRB has also published a fact sheet summarizing the notice requirement. Key points for employers to note are that the posting requirement takes effect on November 14, 2011; the poster will be available from the NLRB by November 1; and it is mandatory for all employers (whether unionized or not).
